UPDATE: The 1600 Display - Poster Appeal
Mon, 2010-08-30 17:41 | | Posted by Violence against Women 365 ...
The “Violence against Women 365 International Poster Exhibition” could never have taken place initially in 2004 without the tremendous generosity of so many individuals, organisations and agencies, both statutory and voluntary, from over 60 countries around the world who donated posters and other awareness materials to the Exhibition. The Exhibition grows from strength to strength and has now appeared in 11 countries (so far….). There are currently approx 850 posters held within the Exhibition and through a rotation sequence, all get regularly featured.
The proposed display of the Exhibition for the 16 Days of Action is a very unique display and a high target of 1600 posters on display is set. To achieve that target, I am appealling to individuals, organisations and agencies, both statutory and voluntary to donate awareness materials to include in the Exhibition such as:
- Posters - any size e.g. business cards, postcards, A5 upwards even to bus shelter size! Simple posters are just as effective as graphic images
- Public Service Announcements (PSA) - in any language, audio/video format that can be played/shown simultaneously during the Exhibition.
- Any other awareness materials - e.g. previously used posters, discarded materials from previous awareness campaigns such as brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, booklets etc. Everything can be adapted and displayed!!
If you are not in a position to donate materials, you may still help by forwarding this appeal through your Newsletters, List-Serves, Social Networks, Mailing lists etc. or recommend alternative sources. The Exhibition is anxious to receive posters from countries in Africa, South America, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia.
While hard copies of posters and other materials are the desirable format where possible, posters are always gratefully received in whatever format that is available to the donor. Unfortunately, the Exhibition is not in receipt of any funding, there is very limited resources available to facilitate printing.
If you can assist in any way or want more information, please email Colm Dempsey at dvposters@gmail.com and a secure postal address will be provided by return
Many, many thanks
COLM
