Community Action 2010!

Make February the launch month for community action across the United States to end domestic violence in Muslim communities!

Here's a list of community actions:

1. Wear Purple, the official domestic violence awareness color, from February 13th through16th in memory of Sr. Aasiya (Zubair) Hassan (co-founder of Bridges TV) who was murdered on February 13, 2009 allegedly by her husband Muzzamil Hassan. Forward photographs to riaz.shazia@gmail.com for Altmuslimah's photographic campaign.

2. Fund-raise or purchase the Garments for One Another video package and other materials for mosque and community libraries. These invaluable resources are designed to guide religious leaders and community groups helping DV victims. Organize simple fundraisers like Jummah bake sales. It's a great way to involve youth in community projects!
