During the 16 Days Campaign to End Violence Against Women, UNRWA in Gaza organized a large signature campaign for the United Nations Secretary-General’s global UNiTE to End Violence Against Women campaign. Combined with awareness raising activities the campaign addressed the issue of gender-based violence in the Gaza Strip. The petition took place across 26 community-based organizations in the Gaza Strip, reaching a total of 7,573 signatures. The key messages of the 16 days campaign encouraged community members and civil society to collectively take a stand to combat violence against women.
