Forum on Violence against Women in Mexico: Analysis and Views

To mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Senate organized a number of activities, including a Forum  on “Violence against Women in Mexico: Analysis and Views”.

Young Women: Be the Change!

Young women from around the world will “be the change” by voicing their ideas about empowerment at the Young Women’s Forum on 24 August 2010. The forum, sponsored by UNIFEM (part of UN women), will be a standout event at the 2010 World Youth Conference in Guanajuato, Mexico.

Demand Justice for the Women of Atenco!

In May 2006, over 45 women were arrested without explanation in San Salvador Atenco, Mexico. Many were subjected to physical, psychological and sexual violence by the police officers who arrested them and then held in prison for days before being released on bail.
